Digital Content Management Unit
The Digital Content Management Unit is responsible for maintaining digital cultural content combined with projects’ implementation, based on the cooperation framework of the Cyprus Ministry of Education and Culture and the European Digital Library for Cultural Heritage «Europeana», under the relevant agreement.It is responsible for the supervision and coordination of various digital infrastructure projects, that support the effective workflow of presenting and promoting Cyprus’ Digital Cultural Heritage at the European level.
The Unit is also in charge of the "Cyprus National e-content Aggregator" a digital infrastructure based on proprietary source software, that supports port core functions such as mapping and uploading digitalized content from Cultural Heritage Institutions to European Digital Platforms.
The Unit’s operating framework is based on regulating effective digital content management methods and practices, developed by utilizing specialized software, aiming to harmonize Cultural content with modern methods of digital presentation, so as to cope with the increasing technological, social and educational needs.
As part of the participation in National and European projects, the Unit is currently an active member of National and European Expert Committees in the fields of Digital Cultural Heritage.
